Tour de Frank 2024

Join Us for the 2024 Tour de Frank Bouldering Festival on Saturday, Sept. 7!

This is your perfect opportunity to explore Alberta’s premier bouldering spot, connect with fellow climbers, and raise awareness about the access challenges facing ‘The Slide.’

Where is it?

This year, the Tour de Frank will be hosted at the west end of the Slide, right in front of the Frank Slide Interpretive Center. The competition will span several sectors, including the Frictionary, House, Heart of Frank, Healing, Albatross, Riverside, and Snakebite. Expect some brand-new problems on the scorecard, so get ready for a fresh challenge!

Come and find us!

Registration opens at 10:00 AM at the Staging Area in front of the Frank Slide Interpretive Center. Sign in, grab a score sheet with boulder problems ranging from beginner (V0-) to advanced (up to V12), and enjoy some free coffee. Orientation starts at 10:40 AM, and the event begins at 11:00 AM. Volunteers will guide you to the climbing areas, with a new route into the Slide this year. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear. You’ll have six hours to climb. A horn will sound at 4:30 PM as a 30-minute warning, and the event ends at 5:00 PM with a final horn blast

Waivers

All participants in the Tour de Frank must sign two waivers: a TdF waiver and a GoA/Historic Sites waiver. Both waivers will be available online before the event on the TdF Facebook event page and the Southern Alberta/Rockies Bouldering Facebook page. If possible, please print and complete both waivers before arriving at the event. Junior climbers (17 and under) must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver. If your guardian is not attending the event, make sure to bring the signed waivers with you.
